Yeah it is honestly amazing me at how barebones this game is even compared to mount and blade warband. Where did all the work go? According to rumors, they worked very hard but lacked any direction. And quite frankly it make a lot of sense. They spent ages on the same features changing them over and over without accomplishing an Ransom them, release them, recruit them or chuck them in a dungeon ASAP to remove the speed penalty here. High morale is always good, not just for speed. Caravans are hard to chase down without having a very mobile force. Use horse archers and/or cav and mounted troops if you have too. It's hard to put in the work when the garrison can be 3x larger than your own army and you can't call your companion's armies to come support you until you're ALREADY a lord. Before I give it a try, let me just ask for confirmation that you CAN call your parties/create armies ONCE YOU BECOME THE LORD? Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord. Patrols and Follow.
